This is by far my most special project handover for clients @meghdutroychowdhury and @paulinelaravoire. From the day when we had our first meeting where we saw the site was just a bare shell with not even stairs to finally making it a home, it’s been a spectacular journey.

Somlata Acharyya Chowdhury is an Indian Bengali singer. She rose to fame with the release of 'Tumi Asbe Bole' & 'Jagarane Jay Bibhabaree' from the Bengali film Ranjana Ami Ar Ashbona in 2011. She has been a prominent singer in Bengali films since 2007

A lifestyle and interior stylist, Tanya has a unique sensibility infused with an infectious passion for design that she has had throughout her childhood. Based in Kolkata she is known as a well-known musician ( https://tanyasen.in/ ), but she also has a discerning eye and warm approach towards designing spaces. Her unique style can be called Eclectic Scandinavian.

This living space balances sculptural silhouettes with a neutral palette to create an atmosphere of quiet luxury. Every detail from the tufted sofa to the organic centre table speaks of restraint, harmony, and refined taste.
Natural light filters through sheer drapery, softening the space while accentuating the warmth of wood, the calm of curves, and the purity of beige.

We always wanted to get our Kolkata house interiors done elegantly but since we stay in Mumbai for most of the year, getting the vision executed was always a challenge. That’s when we landed on Nyne Design Studio web page and it led to the start of a beautiful journey. Tanya’s thought process, design elegance, the ‘minimalistic yet functional’ elements, the innovative ideas - smoothened the entire journey and enhanced the appeal manifold. And Ayan’s seamless execution gave life to the 2D drawing board concept. Noteworthy, Tanya, Ayan and the entire team are exceptionally fabulous to talk with and one can feel a great amount of warmth and love. We have had innumerable phone calls, redesigns and changes which the team accommodated efficiently and without a morsel of complaint. And despite staying 2400 kms away from the execution site, never for a moment did we feel that the team would do a shabby work. To sum up, we did purchase a house, but Nyne team made it a home.
We are extremely overwhelmed to witness the outcome of what we had been dreaming for a couple of months.Tanya,you are juz amazing.We would like to thank you for accomodating every detail in your design that we had been asking for.Your thoughtful process transformed my space into something luxurious as well as functional.Your work is truly so balanced making the entire house feel serene.

Designed for a newlywed couple, this home in Kolkata blends warmth and modernity with a soothing palette of soft neutral. Creamy whites, gentle taupes, and deep blacks. Interplay of texture with plush velvet upholstery, soft ivory curtains against woven rattan accents. Sheer linen drapes diffuse light beautifully, while matte black fixtures and rustic wood finishes add contrast. This space is all about love, warmth & style 🤍🤎

Step into the seamless blend of modernity in our open-plan sanctuary. In this open-plan kitchen, dining, and living room, the concrete flooring sets a modern tone, providing a solid foundation for the space. The dark cabinets add a sense of depth and sophistication, contrasting beautifully with the industrial feel of the concrete. We like to play around with a variety of styles. Mixing old with very minimal modern designs. The idea is to create a unique style for every client whether it’s their home or a commercial project.
Whether we are engaged in a full-scale remodel or styling a house with pre-existing furniture, our goal is to provide a well-conceived, functional design plan that can be implemented in a time frame, budget and style consistent with the client’s desires.
